I have found over years, through training and experience, that most practitioners, even the best autism doctors, often miss the step of DRAINAGE in helping kids recover from the health issues underlying the symptoms of autism.
In this video, which originally was a Facebook Live video and can be found on our Facebook page, I explain what drainage is and why it's such an important thing for your child. If fact, it's not just important, it is critical.
Why? If your child isn't draining out waste, it's going to be a lot more challenging for anything – like that wonderfully nutritious food and those great (and expensive) supplements – to get into where the nutrients need to go, the cells.
As I explain in the video, drainage starts at the cellular level. Our cells are constantly making and breaking down things and need to get the waste out. The lymphatic system, like a sewer system, carries that waste away from the cells and to our major elimination systems.
The main way we let go of waste if through the digestive tract (think poop!), our urinary system, the skin and lungs.
If your child isn't pooping regularly or it looks like little rabbit pellets or your child struggles just to eliminate, that's constipation. That can back up the elimination channels and create unwanted behaviors, like aggression and anxiety, among others.
The liver and gall bladder, both part of the digestive tract, can also be congested and not functioning optimally. Your liver is detoxifying all the time. Your gall bladder helps by storing the toxin-containing bile. From there, the toxins flow through the intestines and out the anus, hopefully in a very timely manner.
In the video, I talk about what helps get these sluggish systems moving better. It's typically homeopathic remedies. Herbs can also be used. But I find with someone so sensitive already, the herbs are almost too overwhelming for many bodies. This will be up to the individual constitution, genetics, toxin load and other unique factors for a person.
I encourage you to check with your doctor, nutritionist, functional health practitioner or other person you're working with to help your child with drainage. If you don't have that resource, we can help.
We perform a Detox Systems Assessment*, which includes going through the drainage systems, to let you know how your child measures up to optimal function. If help is needed to get the systems moving, we are able to recommend drainage remedies and other supplements (if needed) to help. Schedule your Detox Systems Assessment here.
*We are able to do this via video call with a cheek swab from your child.
